The Rock Garden Restaurant evolved into becoming one of London's premier restaurants before it closed after over 30 years of trading at the beginning of 2009. Offering outstanding cuisine in one of London’s most envied restaurant positions the Rock Garden had many a famous face stop by for one of its legendary 100% prime British beef burgers. Located in the very heart of Covent Garden The Rock Garden Restaurant sat on one of the best alfresco terraces in the whole of London, as well as having two dining rooms that overlooked the historic Piazza.
It's hard to think that in its early years the Rock Garden was predominantly a ‘rock venue’ with little thought given to the food that was served, however over the years the Rock Garden team with Anthony Morrison the ex Head Chef from Conran’s Mezzo oversaw a transformation that took the Rock Garden from selling Chimichanga’s to dishes such as roast Suffolk pork loin with sage & onion stuffing, bramley apple sauce and of course the Rock Garden’s legendary gourmet burgers with cheese & bacon which were not only visually amazing but sensationally delicious.
Before its closure the Rock Garden restaurant used to be one of Covent Garden’s most popular party venues and was ‘The’ restaurant to celebrate any special occasion. Although the Rock Garden closed its doors for the last time on 1st January 2009 in some ways the Rock Garden lives on, as the old Rock Garden team have taken the same Rock Garden menu and moved it to a new home in Covent Garden at The International.
